About This Place

Situated at the scenic Presidio of San Francisco, Ironwoods is a vibrant restaurant and bar that masterfully blends classic pub fare with a welcoming, casual atmosphere. Perfectly positioned at 300 Finley Rd, this eatery offers a diverse menu that caters to both hearty brunch lovers and those seeking satisfying lunch options – making it a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.

The culinary heart of Ironwoods lies in its expertly crafted comfort food with a distinct twist. Signature dishes such as the irresistibly crispy Chicken Wings (10pc) and the crunchy, tender Crispy Calamari provide a mouthwatering experience that keeps guests coming back. The Quesadilla and Fish & Chips offer familiar flavors done exceptionally well, while the Meatloaf Loco Moco provides a satisfying, savory punch evocative of a true comfort meal. Not to be missed are classic pub standouts like the Burger and Fries, the scrumptious Crab Cake Sandwich, and the hearty Presidio Club Sandwich, all artfully served alongside your choice of crisp chips or fresh side salad, creating a complete and satisfying plate.

For those seeking lighter or starter options, the thoughtfully curated soups and salads bring vibrant, fresh flavors to the table. The rich and warming French Onion Soup with Gruyere mingles deep beef stock and melted cheese to create a luscious starter, while the Butternut Squash Soup offers a velvety, subtly spiced alternative featuring coconut milk and pumpkin seeds. The Winter Solstice Salad bursts with sweetness from dried cranberries and crisp apple, balanced by creamy feta and a maple sage vinaigrette, showcasing Ironwoods’ skill in combining wholesome ingredients.

Breakfast lovers will find themselves entranced by offerings served all day, including the hearty Big Bertha Burrito, a rich medley of pork sausage, bacon, eggs, tater tots, cheese, salsa, and avocado – a perfect marriage of textures and flavors that energizes your day. Alternately, the Breakfast Plate with two eggs, smoked bacon or sausage, tater tots, and an English muffin offers a timeless, satisfying start to your morning.

To complement your meal, Ironwoods provides an inviting selection of wines, from the crisp and celebratory Ca'Bolani Prosecco to rich and robust choices like the J. Vineyards Pinot Noir and the Seghesio Zinfandel. Classic cocktails like the Ironwoods Bloody Mary and the refreshing Moscow Mule balance the menu beautifully, enhancing both brunch and dinner experiences.

From the moment you step onto the spacious patio, you’ll notice the warm, laid-back vibe that makes dining at Ironwoods more than just a meal — it’s an experience. Whether basking in the San Francisco sunshine with friends or settling in after a brisk Presidio walk, the setting provides an inviting backdrop that elevates every bite. Customer feedback echoes this sentiment: one guest praised the “delicious food” and the “flavor-packed veggie burger and sliders,” while another fondly remembered the “personable service” and a perfect ending to their day with a glass of Cabernet after sampling the decadent crab dishes.

While some have noted the breakfast ordering process can get a bit busy, it’s a small trade-off for the consistently delightful food and convivial atmosphere. The team’s attentive service, highlighted by shoutouts to standout staff members, rounds out the experience with genuine hospitality.

In essence, Ironwoods is a must-visit for anyone craving a blend of classic pub comfort, fresh locally-inspired dishes, and an easygoing vibe that feels like a true San Francisco treasure. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch, a casual lunch, or an evening sip at the bar, Ironwoods promises a satisfying, flavorful journey that feels both familiar and special.

Really delicious food. The menu is simple pub food. The veggie burger and the sliders have so much flavour. Calamari is to die for.

Ironwood Cafe at the Presidio golf course offers ok food... very edible/solid/predictable, but not anything to write home about. The atmosphere out on the patio on a beautiful sunny day with friends is incredible.

Crab time! Special crab menu. Great food and personable service...always. had fried calamari, crab beignets with a creole yogart dipping sauce and crab croquettes with a mango habanero dipping sauce. The calamari could have been fried a wee longer but was, nonetheless, great. The Cabernet wasn't bad either. Perfect ending to a walk in the Presidio!

Nice breakfast. Mornings you have to order from the bartender, so have to stand in line.

Quick service and great food. The quesadilla is barely an appetizer, it's quite large, and the burger was juicy and delicious. I asked for medium rare and got medium rare. The drinks are on the strong side but well made. Our group enjoyed our lunch here!

Ironwoods is attached to a golf course. The food is great, the service is very professional and the interior is very cozy with a fireplace and a decent view. Call ahead because sometimes they have events booked there. It is a little expensive, but it's a swanky place so I expected as much.

We have been at the Ironwoods before for lunch. Yesterday was an amazing experience. We had the best food and best guest customer service person ever. Kudos to the fine detail and excellent food. The chefs prepared my unusual dish to perfection, Fish and tater tots lol. The coffee is the best. Especially iced. Thank you and we will be back...
